Description and Details
We are delighted to offer this wonderful solid silver loving cup made during the Georgian era in London, 1748.
Featuring a classic antique Georgian design with a thick gauge of silver to form the body and handle of the cup the quality is evident when held in hand.
The later-chased embellishments on the cup are particularly a fine example with beautiful and 'crisp' forms of flowers and natural shapes which are elegantly decorated through the cup.
The central cartouche is engraved with "S/J" and Feast of St Joseph.
The interior is gilded with a rich gold tone that presents a lustrous and regal shine.
There are no leaks in this cup and thus liquids can be held within.
Full set of English hallmarks are marked on the side of the cup - the marks are worn and the maker's mark is indistinguishable.
A superb cup/trophy with a wonderful design and overall proportion, ideal for display by itself or for creative purposes, whether be it for displaying flowers or even holding a small bottle.
