Antique Victorian 18ct Gold Garnet Cabochon Flower Bud Brooch - c.1880

We are delighted to offer this sweet 18ct gold Victorian brooch made c.1880.

 This brooch features a lovely intertwined circular design with the central flower bud being mounted with a garnet cabochon. The gold workmanship on this brooch is particularly delightful - despite the relatively small size and area to work with, each section has been embellished with filigree-like rope twist rings and borders. Furthermore, the manner in which the half-torus-shaped mount seamlessly blends into the other parts forming an aesthetically pleasing proportion is beautiful in terms of geometric design.  Understated in size yet distinctly elegant; we believe such brooches are not only collectable antiques but an excellent accoutrement to your wardrobe.  When paired with shirts, jumpers or coats this brooch would make for a wonderful conversation starter and an opportunity to share your passion of antiques.

The reverse side of the brooch features a c-clasp pin. 

The brooch is unmarked as is common with pieces of the period however we have tested it for 18ct+ high-carat gold. Please note the pin is not made of solid gold.

Condition: Fair antique condition - overall the brooch's appearance is good and due to its small size, unless inspected carefully looks visually great from the front. The rear has has some restoration where the pin and mount have solders as shown in the photo showing the rear of the brooch.  

We aim to overemphasize and state these issues to avoid disappointment and thus please rest assured they are not significant nor affect the usage of the items.
