A Very Large Victorian Solid Silver Goblet/Cup, Gothic Decorations - Henry Holland 1868

We are delighted to offer this unique and very large solid silver Victorian goblet/cup made by Henry Holland in London, 1868. 

The goblet features a widened foot connecting to the large flared upper cup via a waisted midsection. 

Magnificent in size and presence, yet equally detailed and embellished with various scrolled and stippled motifs, this goblet makes an excellent display piece and a central attraction on a fine table.  

The body of the cup features two blank cartouches (front and back) with further decorations on each side. 

Interior-wise, the goblet is fully gilt which delightfully contrasts the exterior silver. This not only serves an aesthetic purpose but protects the silver from tarnishing with whatever that may be held within.

Due to the great condition and no leaks, liquids may be held within should one wish to use it practically.

In addition to its original intended use, such items of silverware may be used for a range of purposes in the modern-day such as a flower vase, trophy or as an exquisite object of fine interior decor.  

A full set of English hallmarks are marked on the side of the cup.
