Description and Details
We are delighted to offer this magnificent pair of Victorian Rococo design silver candlesticks imported into London in 1890 by "JG" possibly, James Green. The pair features the most wonderful Rococo style design with rich ornamentations of scrolls, acanthus leaves and shells overflowing from all angles.
The base presents a tri-pointed design with a raised centre, embellished with garlands, shells and gridded patterns. The mid-section features a waisted and elegant shape with a mixture of stippled accenting lines, plain portions and further naturalistic leaves.
The 'capitals' (top) of the candlesticks are equally magnificent with a bud-shaped design and three cartouches with wrythen decorations within. The sconces are fully detachable for cleaning and continue a rich Rococo design with further overflowing acanthus leaves.
The bases of the pair are weighted for stability and stand steady - perfect for interior settings and ideal for elegant dinners - a conversation starter and bound to delight and impress your guests. A practical and elegant size, ideal for decoration on a fine table as pair or singularly on a smaller table to enjoy the finer things in life in classical style; why not treat yourself to a glass of whiskey, a cigar or read a novel and enjoy your time in an elegant manner.
Full English import marks are present on the side of the capitals with further partial marks on the sconces.

Condition
Good Condition - The pair is in good overall antique condition with no major damage or issues. There are a few minor pin-holes and gaps on the base where the sharp edges have been worn over time and a slight difference in the base; one has a small silver panel (as shown in the last three images). There is a slight rattling sound when shaken due to some debris in the hollow interior - this does not affect usage.
We aim to overemphasize and state these issues to avoid disappointment and thus please rest assured they are not significant nor affect usage of the items and cannot be seen unless under close examination.
Please refer to the photographs to examine the condition in further detail.
