Description and Details
This sterling silver blue guilloche tray was made by Adie Brothers (Ltd) in Birmingham 1924. Featuring a distinct captivating blue guilloche enamel in the centre, this tray certainly is a small yet captivating piece of silverware. The sides are left unenamelled with a high polish silver finish that is slightly raised and curved towards the edges.
The highlighted guilloche in the centre features an engine turned pattern underneath that radiates from the centre as a circle and diverges into an oval pattern towards the outer sides. A minute yet intricate detail that reflects the great craftsmanship and care that was taken upon making Birmingham silverware.
The enamelling is in great condition with only very fine scratches on the surface and has no enamelling missing. The sides and rear of the tray have some patina in some areas and a few minor scratches to be expected with the age of this item.
A great little addition to a personal collection in order to add a hint of blue accenting to your bespoke collection - ideal for placement on smaller tables amongst other silverware.
